Samurai, or ronin? Depends on your definition. With an easy grin and a relaxed posture, Sacha stands unhurried and unfettered betwixt blood and country, loyalty and duty, honor and longing. The illegitimate son of an Imperial emissary and a Blackmage of the Resistance, there is no real place to return to for Sacha but the familiar dojo of his teacher, honing his skill with the blade and honoring the code of the Hunt.Unwilling to see their child conscripted to the war efforts and raised in a barracks, yet unable to fully care for him, Sacha was given over to the samurai in his father's retainer, raised alongside another child, and together, the pair were trained as samurai, and initiated into a small hunters' enclave.Honor cannot protect a man from the harsh reality of his origins, however. No matter how determined the flame or winding the stream, how flexible Sacha had learned to become to protect himself from the callous intents of others around him, a single devastating blow reshaped the landscape of everything he knew, reminding him of the price in blood.No longer does his brother pupil hunt at his side, but remains with the guild in his new capacity as teacher, and no longer does Sacha linger around the dojo, but wanders and follows the instinct of something awakened in him, more familiar to him than the concept of belonging."I have never been permitted near the Imperial embassy in Kugane, much less been to Garlemald. Salutations~ A quick and dirty on me as the player, my name is Xyniah (Xyn for short), mun behind the muse known as Sacha. I've been doing various forms of Roleplay for 20+ years, from text to in game and even some LARPing and tabletop. In real life, I work a full time job as a manager and I have a full household. I hate small talk, I have a thing for a good spreadsheet or flowchart, I have a very loving boyfriend and close friend circle, and I'm prone to being a bit standoffish until I have some insight on people and how to interact with them (read as neurospicy). I don't have a lot of free time, but I am very big on communication, and devoting my free time to where I decide it's deserved; as such, while I'm a pretty mellow and patient person, I also don't have a lot of time to be wasting, so check below for some pointers, and the easiest way to contact me is Discord. • Communicate~ I am not a mind reader, and I practice two way communication and acknowledgment. What this means is that I will openly voice when I have concerns or ideas, and I will acknowledge when my partners provide the same. I will also call for time-outs if I think something needs to be addressed or I believe my partners need room to express something. I ask for the same in return, even if it is not 100%, just the effort to be a two-way street goes a long way.• Preference for 21+ both IC and OOC. Why? Because generally speaking, 21+ implies you are old enough to actually be legal to participate in the activities that are often portrayed in mature RP, and that you will have some maturity in working on a collaboration, because that is exactly what Roleplay is, a collaboration.• Respect boundaries and autonomy, both IC and OOC. I am pretty clear with where I draw the line on a lot of things, and if ever something is not clear, I am very open to discussion and clarifying. Likewise, mutual respect for boundaries and the separation of IC from OOC will help us stay on the same page.• Share your ideas, interests, and desires~! One of the things I am very well adapted to is taking a bunch of mix-matched ideas and finding a way to organically meld them together for something plot-feasible. It's honestly one of those puzzles that tickles my brain best; I want to write creatively and collaboratively, and find ways to combine interests.• Walk up and /tell! I am very wu/t friendly, whether it's OOC or IC as Sacha (or any of my other characters). Like my character's glam? Want to roleplay? Are you an adventure plate snooper like I am? There are so many ways to start an interaction! And hey, if I like your glam or adventure plate, I will definitely also be saying so.
• Do NOT blur the line between In Character and Out Of Character. I am not my characters, nor are they representations of myself in any major capacity. I do not and will never play an avatar of myself, so please don't make that attempt to personify my characters as me the player. Likewise, the decisions and behaviors of my characters are not representative of my personal mannerisms or beliefs in full; they are extensions of my experiences and creative writing interests, but nothing more.• Do NOT attempt to carry over interactions from IC into OOC or vice versa. This includes any relationships or drama. I do not use my characters to look for relationships, and I will be quick to cut off anyone who attempts to use that approach. I do not have time for projection or drama, and if I feel like there is an issue related to this, I will politely bring it up to be corrected, and then I have no problem blocking if it persists.• No god-modding, scene stealing, excessive power play without consent, meta-gaming, forcing or assuming changes to my characters to suit your fancies, or in general taking control of any aspect of my characters (PCs or NPCs) without my consent. • Any player or character under the age of 18 (or the legal adult age in your jurisdiction, but 18 minimum). This includes in appearance.• Any player that practices or enables exclusionary behavior and bigotry, including homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, ableism, xenophobia, classism, etc. While these themes may come up in RP, I expect them to be handled with respect and due research, but I will not tolerate these behaviors from any co-player OOC.• Any player that does not believe in the absolute of consent in OOC. If you don't think communication and consent are integral parts of Roleplay, regardless of the scenes being portrayed, we are not going to get along and you can move on.• Meme characters or any character that breaks immersion of XIV general lore; while I have a preference for Original Characters over WoL/Canon characters, they are not automatically excluded if played tastefully; I am also open to characters that may break/bend lore slightly if written well, or use unofficial lore if its feasible. But I refuse to play with meme characters or characters that are otherwise joke portrayals or caricatures. Humor has never been my strong suit.

• Known as GunyōkenEmployed by Sacha's father, he took the young half-blood under wing and raised him as his son and pupil alongside Leiwen. Long had he held control of the Chi to Hasu Brotherhood as well, but he has since retired and now mostly continues to offer his guidance and mentorship to younger guild members. He can often be found enjoying a play at the Mujikoza at sunset, and will occasionally offer an old man's insight.

• A loyal companion and guardianKomainu are honored guardian spirits that often protect places of importance, however, on occasion they have been known to devote their loyalty to others who may be considered guardians. Sacha earned Hogo-sama's trust shortly after he lost Leiwen as his hunting partner, perhaps to assure them both that Sacha would be well guarded even in Leiwen's absence. Hogo-sama's presence cannot often be observed by others without a special sense for spirits, but on occasion, he reveals himself to the trustworthy, the curious, or the one with the best snacks.

• Potential romantic/sexual interest for SachaAfter chancing upon Yuu's teahouse and handily assisting with throwing out a few ruffians, Sacha's reward was some personal one on one mending and a stolen kiss; given an ilm, Sacha took a malm, and when Yuu didn't seem to mind, Sacha was like the stray that had been fed, and continued sticking around. However, when the teahouse temporarily closed up with very little explanation, Sacha reluctantly took a job from his guild to go West. But whose trail should he find but the gentle lupin he'd been lingering around? Now, they find their paths conveniently interwoven, as Sacha's hunt coincides with Yuu's family investigation.
